Richard Wood

Richard Wood, 78, of Forest Lake, PA passed away, Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Born July 15, 1931 in Springville, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Helen L. [Worrick] Wood. He was employed as a(n) School Bus Driver. Richard served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Additionally, he was a bowler in the Tuesday night leagues for over 50 years at Maplewood Lanes. He enjoyed watching baseball and helping his neighbors with their "handy-man" projects. Survivors include Wife, Mary[McNamara] Wood, sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel R. Wood of CA, Thomas E. & Shelley M. Wood of Forest Lake, PA, daughter, Rachel L. Wood of Montrose, PA, Step daughter and spouse, Cassandra T. & Christopher Winans of Johnson City, NY, 5 Grandchildren and several Great-grandchildren, brothers & sisters-in-law, Roger D. & Marcia Wood of Johnson City, NY, John C. & Jane Wood of Valois, NY, David E. & Betty Wood of Binghamton, NY, Floyd M. & Judy Wood of Lynn, PA, sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey J. & Donald Fleegle of San Antonio, TX, Sally Ann & James Steffen of Roanoke, VA, and his best friend, Ed Rafferty. In addition to his parents, his first wife, Janet [Van Kuran] Wood and a brother predeceased him.
