Thomas J. Hinz

Thomas J. Hinz, 72, of Endwell, NY formerly of Montrose, PA passed away, Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Born January 22, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late William P. and Mary [Stuczynski] Hinz. Thomas served in the Marines for 7 years and then in the Air Force for 15 years, for a total years of service of 22 years. He retired in 1977 as a Technical Sergeant. He was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church, Montrose and the United Volunteer Fire Company, Montrose. Additionally he enjoyed golfing and bowling. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth J.[Holbrook] Hinz of Endwell, NY, daughter, Debbie [Hinz] Opeka of Johnson City, NY, Grandchildren, Tracy, Anthony, & Michael Opeka, sister & brother-in-law, Carol Ann & Robert Welch of Chenango Forks, NY, brothers & sisters-in-law, Frederick P. & Mary Hinz of Lava Hot Springs, ID, James J. & Susan Hinz of Mt. Vernon, IL, and good friends , Stan & Betty Charlier and Denise Kirk. Services:Wednesday 2:00 PM at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA Visitation: 5:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
