Robert L. Carrington

Robert L. Carrington, 87, of Brackney, PA passed away, Monday, November 9, 2009 at Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY. Born October 10, 1922 in Susquehanna, PA, he was the son of the late Charles R. and the late Lily T. [Herbst] Carrington. He was employed as a Real Estate Appraiser and was the first appointed Assessor in the town of Vestal, New York. Robert served in the US Navy and Marine Corp. during the World War II. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church Of Montrose, a charter member and past president of Willow Point Fire Company, Vestal, NY, the American Legion of Pennsylvania. He was an Eagle Scout, and Assistant Leader of the Boy Scouts, Troop 226 and enjoyed building, woodworking, and achieved the credentials of Journeyman Carpenter. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lois "Dolly" Carrington of Brackney, PA, daughters & son-in-law, Deanna & Robert Dohnken of Port Crane, NY, Pamela Carrington of Geneseo, NY, Son, Charles R. Carrington of Vestal, NY, son-in-law, Eugene Peters of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Wendy, Ronald, Julie, Todd, Heather, Jennifer, Sarah, Jenna, and Lauren, great grandchildren , Tiffany, Zachary, and Hayden. Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter, Elaine Peters. Services: Saturday 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Montrose, PA.
