Lewis Stanton
Lewis W. Stanton, 90, of Rushville, PA passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Meadow View Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA. Born September 17, 1919 in Rushville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Lidya [Goodwin] Stanton. His wife of 58 years Lottie F. [Cilwik] Stanton predeceased him in 1998.
Throughout his life, he worked as a dairy farmer, was employed by Loomis Construction as a foreman and later on owned and operated Stanton Logging.
Lewis served in the Army during the World War II.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ayers-Stone VFW Post # 5642, Montrose, PA & the Loyal Order of Moose, Tunkhannock, PA.
Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
Survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Betty Lou Russick of Montrose, PA, Loretta & Richard Ormsby of Lawton, PA, son & daughter-in-law, Michael E. & Linda Stanton of Wyalusing, PA, grandchildren, Darlene Salsman, Gaylene Mowry, Penny Stockholm, Max Russick, Jr., Dixie Kreig, Judy Lauben, Richard Ellis Jr., Donald Ellis, Richard Lewis Ormsby, Wendy Ford, Kelly Ranieli, Nicole Heyer, 25 great grandchildren & 24 great great grandchildren.
Lewis was the last of 13siblings.
Besides his parents & wife he was predeceased by a daughter, Delores Ellis & grandchildren, Kevin Johnson & Brandi Stockholm.
