Vera Jean Blot

Vera Jean (Jandrew) Blot, 87, of Montrose, PA died Thursday December 10, 2009 at Meadow View Senior Living Center in Montrose. Jean was born on November 29, 1922 in Manhattan. She married Joseph "Ritchie" Blot Sr. on August 8, 1948. They lived in the Bronx and moved to Mineola in 1960 where they lived until his death in 1978. Jean moved to Montrose in 1991. She was an avid reader, and loved to work on crafts including painting, ceramics and marquetry. She will be remembered most for her sense of humor and her love for Sinatra and her grandchildren. Jean is survived by her sons Dennis (Pat) Sheridan of Hauppauge, NY, Joseph (Suzanne) of East Meredith, NY, her daughter Patricia (Michael) Zapf of Garden City, NY, her grandchildren Pamela, Amanda and Melissa Zapf, as well as many beloved friends and relatives in Montrose and on Long Island, especially her dear friend Jackie Kane of Montrose. Visitation: 10:30 AM-12:30 AM at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Montrose, PA. Friends are invited to gather at the church after the funeral. Burial will be Monday December 14th at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, Long Island, NY.
