Wayne H. WhippleWayne H. Whipple, 91, of Montrose, PA passed away, Friday, December 11, 2009 at Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, PA. Born June 17, 1918 in Orson, PA, he was the son of the late Clyde Arden and Edna Alice [Robinson] Whipple. His wife Marguerite Whipple predeceased him in 2004. He was employed by General Electric for 29 years. Wayne was a kind and gentle man who never met a stranger. He was known as the "mayor" at Gracious Living Estates. He made everyone feel special by delivering newspapers and cleaning residents' eye glasses. He held his family close to his heart and had many enduring friendships throughout his 91 years. He will be missed by many. He was a member of the Zephyrhills Moose Lodge No. 2276, Binghamton Moose Lodge, General Electric Quarter Century Club, Franklin Forks United Methodist Church and former member of Orson United Methodist Church as well as the New River United Methodist Church in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Wayne was also a member of the Snake Creek Fire Company and former member of the Liberty Township planning commission. Survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Alice & James Willcutt of Kingsley, PA, sons & daughters-in-law, Donald T. Allen of Lady Lake, FL, Clifton L. & Verna Allen of Broomall, PA, Richard A. & Peggy Whipple of Mobile, AL, Clyde & Janice Whipple of Brackney, PA, Wyland Reed & Erica of Coopers Plains, NY, many grandchildren including, Caitlyn Williams, Derek & Brandon Whipple, numerous great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren, sisters & brother-in-law, Betty Binde, Hallstead, PA, Altheda & Jim Appley, Fishs Eddy, NY, brother, Darwin Whipple, NY, nieces & nephews and special friends, Harold & Carol Smallacombe. Besides his parents & wife he was predeceased by sons, Master Sgt. Glenn A. Allen & Rex Reed, grandchildren, Roy & Barbara Allen, Ashleigh Willcutt, Gregory Whipple, Jeff Allen, great grandson, Cody Southard , daughters-in-law, Tina Allen & Linda Whipple, siblings, Arden, Faith, Ila, Walter "Jake", Friend, Floyd, Robert & William. Services: 11AM Monday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801. Visitation: Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
