Esther W. Depue

Esther W. Depue, 91, of Franklin Township, PA went to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Endless Mountains Health Systems, Montrose, PA. Born May 29, 1918 in Hillsdale, MI, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Millie [McCoy] Weir. Esther was an incredible lady being very service minded. Her parents died very young so her grandparents raised her at Jackson Prison in Michigan with her two sisters & two brothers. She loved riding horses growing up. While living in Michigan she worked for the Jackson Church as their secretary. While attending an evangelistic meeting, she met Doug Roe. This is where it all started. When Doug took the position as president of Philadelphia College, Esther moved with Doug & Natalie Roe to Philadelphia, PA to work. The Roe's were the closest thing to parents that Esther had. During summers, the Roe's would come to Montrose to run the Montrose Bible Conference. This is where Esther met her husband David. She married him at the Torey Lodge in 1954. She was a founding member of WPEL Radio and a 53 year board member and was also a member of the Stanfordville Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving husband, David O. Depue of Franklin Twp., PA, sons & daughters-in-law, David Jr. & Debbie Depue of Greene, NY, Philip & Shelly Depue of Montrose, PA, Daniel & Betty Depue of Montrose, PA, 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
