Ethel G. Little

Ethel Marie (Garrison) Little, 83, of Gracious Living Estates, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2010. Ethel was born July 6, 1926 in West Deptford Township, New Jersey to Charles B. and Lucy B. (Hollister) Garrison. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Samuel F. Little, of Gracious Living Estates, 2 sons, Samuel C. Little and Robert F. (Sharon) Little, both of Montrose, and 3 daughters, Cecilia M. (David) Setser, Bowie, MD, Betty Jean (Daniel) Depue, Montrose and Beth I. (Glenn) Curtis, Brackney, 12 Grandchildren and 27 Great- Grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Mrs. Alice (Ardell) Knutson, Buffalo, MN, and Mrs. Lucy Beverly (Jack) Knopick, Montrose, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Darlene E. (Edward) Yonkin (1979) and a son, Glen M. Little (2004), 2 sisters, Charlotte Hughes and Clementine Cundey-Hall as well as a brother, Charles S. Garrison. Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, gardening, watching and feeding the birds, doing word-finds, and puzzles She was raised in New Jersey but visited Montrose during the summer months to be with her large family of aunts, uncles and cousins. For a couple of years during the latter part of the 1950's, "the family" packed up and moved to Arizona where they ran a small desert store. Before moving to Arizona, they had a farm in South Montrose. Upon moving back to Montrose, she and Sam had a small farm in Franklin Forks. Before retiring, Ethel worked at the Susquehanna County Extension Office as a secretary. Ethel and Sam enjoyed going to Texas during the winter months where they would meet her sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Ardell Knutson. They enjoyed seeing the sights and each other's company.
